Product Description
This Grenache comes from 120-year-old vines at the Burge vineyard where these ancient vines thrive in clay soils.
The grapes are handpicked to ensure the beautiful old vines are not damaged. This Grenache is fermented in batches, allowing the use of different winemaking techniques to enhance the wine’s complexity and depth of flavor. Whole bunches are included to amplify the fruit characteristics, and post-fermentation maturation is used to build structure and mouthfeel. Natural fermentation occurs spontaneously. The wine is matured in seasoned French oak barrels to preserve the wine’s pure essence and character. It is naturally clarified, eliminating the need for additional filtration. The wine is bottled at 12 months of age to present it in its purest form.
The color is medium red. The aroma offers floral notes, raspberry fruit, and a hint of savory character. The medium-bodied palate showcases classic Grenache traits, with upfront raspberry fruit layered with hints of licorice and sweet Indian spices such as clove and cardamom. The mid-palate carries impressive weight and depth, echoing across the mouth. The flavors and silky tannins are well-balanced, leading to a long, persistent finish.
